TrapFree Pro — Subscription terms

Last updated 18 October 2026Draft for legal review

Draft for legal review. Ascendify's lawyer is reviewing this page; it is not final yet. Items in brackets are still being filled in.

On this page

These terms are part of the TrapFree Terms of Service.

In short: Pro is optional. The price you see is the total you pay. It renews automatically until you cancel, and cancelling takes at most two clicks. A 7-day trial, started in TrapFree on a Mac or a Windows PC, needs no card or UPI. When Pro ends, nothing that protects you switches off.

Pro adds only the last six rows. It does not add Focus Lock schedules, another app icon, a special card or anything else not in this table, and it never adds wallet minutes.

One Pro plan covers every device on your account, whichever store or website you bought it from.

2. Prices

Plan, India, Outside India
PlanIndiaOutside India
Pro monthly₹149 a monthUS$4.99 a month
Pro yearly₹999 a year (about ₹83 a month)US$34.99 a year
  1. The price on the button is the total you pay. Nothing is added at checkout.
    • Our website, India (Razorpay): until Ascendify is registered for GST, no GST is charged and you get a receipt. Once it is registered, the price includes 18 % GST, the page says "GST included" and you get a GST tax invoice.
    • Our website, outside India (Paddle): the price includes any tax Paddle must charge where you live (for example VAT), and the page says "Tax included".
    • App Store and Google Play: the store shows the total, with its taxes, before you buy.
  2. Before you pay we show: the plan, the total price, how often you are charged, that it renews automatically and on which date, how to cancel, the refund policy and the seller. You agree by pressing one button that carries the price, for example "Subscribe for ₹999 a year". No box is ticked for you and no plan is pre-selected.
  3. Website: India pays in rupees through Razorpay (UPI AutoPay or card). Outside India, Paddle.com sells Pro to you as merchant of record, charges any local tax and sends your invoices.
  4. App Store and Google Play: prices are set in each store's price levels for your country and may differ from the website.
  5. We may change prices for the future. We tell subscribers at least 30 days before a new price applies to their renewal (in California, exactly 30 days before), with how to cancel. If your first renewal at the new price comes more than 30 days after that notice (for example on a yearly plan), we tell you again 30 days before that renewal. For website subscriptions you can cancel before then; for store subscriptions Apple or Google asks for your agreement where their rules require it.
  6. Prices on this page are today's prices; the price shown at checkout is the price you pay.

3. Automatic renewal

  1. Pro renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel: a monthly plan every month and a yearly plan every year, on the same date as your first payment. The exact next renewal date is shown before you pay (for example "Renews automatically on 2 October 2027 for ₹999, then every year, until you cancel"), and at any time in the app's Settings and on your account page (ascendify.pro/trapfree/account).
  2. An email address for your notices. A subscription on our website needs an email address on your account, so that every notice below reaches you. If your account has none, the website asks you to add one first ("Add an email for your receipts and renewal reminders first.") on your account page (ascendify.pro/trapfree/account/contact), with a code we send to it. Nothing is charged until then. App Store and Google Play subscriptions get their receipts and reminders from Apple or Google.
  3. Reminders before renewal (website subscriptions):
    • Yearly plans: we email you 7 days before every renewal with the amount, the date and how to cancel.
    • Monthly plans: once a year, within 7 days after each anniversary of the day you subscribed, we email you a reminder of the plan, its price, the date of your next payment and how to cancel.
    • India (UPI AutoPay and cards): you get a pre-debit notice at least 24 hours before every charge (see section 4). We also email it.
    • California: these reminders also meet California's rules (section 9).
  4. Every website payment gets a receipt by email: from us for a payment through Razorpay, and from Paddle, as merchant of record, for a payment through Paddle. In India, once Ascendify is registered for GST, our receipt is a GST tax invoice. If you live in the EU or the UK and asked for Pro to start at once, your receipt repeats the sentence you ticked (section 9). Paddle's invoice cannot carry it, so when Paddle sold you Pro, we email you a confirmation of the subscription that repeats it.
  5. If a renewal payment fails, Pro continues while the payment provider or store retries the payment ("grace" and "billing retry" periods count as Pro). If the payment is not made, Pro ends (section 8).
  6. Paying twice: if your account has Pro from two places (for example the website and Google Play), the app shows it and helps you cancel one. We never charge you twice without telling you. [See the refund policy for a duplicate payment.]

4. Recurring payments in India (RBI e-mandate rules)

Website subscriptions in India use a recurring-payment mandate through Razorpay, under the Reserve Bank of India's e-mandate rules:

  1. Your first payment sets up the mandate, with the extra authentication your bank or UPI app asks for.
  2. At least 24 hours before every later charge you get a pre-debit notice with the amount and date. Razorpay or your bank sends it, and we also email it between 72 and 24 hours before the charge.
  3. Any single charge above ₹15,000 would need extra authentication; Pro prices never reach this.
  4. You can skip a charge or cancel the mandate at any time in your UPI app or bank, as well as in TrapFree. If you skip or cancel, Pro ends at the end of the period you paid for.
  5. UPI AutoPay charges run only outside the busy hours set by the payment networks.

5. The free trial (computers only)

  1. You can try Pro free for 7 days, started in TrapFree on a Mac or a Windows PC (Settings → Plan). No card, UPI or other payment details are needed, and nothing is ever charged for the trial.
  2. Each account can have one trial.
  3. We remind you once, in the trial's last 24 hours, by email if your account has an email address. The trial's end date is always shown in Settings → Plan. When the trial ends, your account goes back to Free by itself. Everything that protects you stays on (section 8).
  4. After the trial, Pro costs the prices in section 2 only if you choose to subscribe.
  5. The Android and iPhone apps offer no trial at launch.

6. Pro you get for free: referrals and promotions

  1. Referrals: every account has an invitation code and link. If a friend creates a new TrapFree account and uses your code within 7 days of creating it, you both get 30 days of Pro once their account has kept protection on for 3 days. Each account can use one code, never its own. Rewards from several friends add up, one after another. You can be rewarded for up to 5 friends in any 365 days (your invitation page shows how many rewards you have had); a friend who joins after that still gets their 30 days. You see how many people used your code and how many rewards you earned; we never show your friend's phone or email to you, or yours to them.
  2. We may give Pro days as a promotion or as a support gesture.
  3. Free Pro days have no cash value, do not renew and are never charged. When they end, your account goes back to Free (or to your paid plan, if you have one). We may refuse or remove rewards obtained through fake accounts or other abuse.
  4. We can change or end the referral program for the future; rewards already earned are kept.

7. Cancelling

Cancelling is never tied to removing TrapFree or to any of its waiting periods. You can cancel at any moment, including during a removal wait or Focus Lock. Every way to cancel is also on the "How to cancel" page (ascendify.pro/trapfree/legal/cancel).

First find where you bought Pro: the app shows it next to your plan, and so does your account page.

Where you subscribed, How to cancel
Where you subscribedHow to cancel
Our website (Razorpay or Paddle)On your account page: ascendify.pro/trapfree/account → Pro → Cancel subscription. In TrapFree on a Mac or Windows PC: Settings → Plan → Cancel subscription. In TrapFree on Android: Settings → Account → Cancel subscription. At most two clicks and one confirmation, with Keep Pro and Yes, cancel the same size.
App Store (iPhone, iPad)In TrapFree on iPhone or iPad: Settings → Account → Cancel subscription opens Apple's subscription page; or Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period to avoid the next charge (Apple's rule).
Google Play (Android)In TrapFree on Android: Settings → Account → Cancel subscription opens Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Free trial, invitation or promotionNothing to cancel: Pro ends by itself on the date shown, and nothing is charged.

On iPhone and iPad, Settings → Account shows the way to cancel that fits where you bought Pro: for the App Store, Cancel subscription opens Apple's subscription page; for a website subscription it tells you to cancel in TrapFree on your computer or on your account page; for a subscription bought in another app store it tells you to cancel there [BUILD GATE: CA-15 — the app's line for that store names Google Play; it must say "another app store" unless the lawyer allows the name]. On iPhone and Android, Settings → Account → Restore purchases brings back a Pro plan bought in that store on another phone or after a reinstall.

  1. Website cancellation stops all future charges. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for. We email you a confirmation.
  2. Before you confirm, we may tell you about an alternative (for example switching to yearly), but only after telling you that you can cancel right now, and never with extra steps.
  3. Germany: our website shows a clearly labelled "Cancel contracts here" button at the foot of every page. It leads to cancellation after a one-time code to your phone or email.
  4. EU and UK: during the 14-day withdrawal period our account page shows a "Withdraw from contract here" button (section 9).
  5. Store subscriptions can only be cancelled with Apple or Google; we cannot cancel them for you. Deleting your TrapFree account cancels a subscription bought on our website (no further payment is taken), but not an App Store or Google Play subscription: cancel those first (account deletion page).

8. When Pro ends

Pro ends when you cancel and the paid period runs out, when a trial or free Pro days end, when a payment is refunded or charged back, when a renewal is not paid after any retry period, or when a device cannot confirm your plan with our server for 7 days.

Nothing that protects you switches off. Every device keeps its rules, block-list sites, strict mode and shared daily budget, and the protection-off alerts keep working. Loosening a rule still waits as usual. Only adding more stops:

  • signing in to more devices than the Free plan allows (1);
  • adding a fourth block-list site;
  • turning on strict mode on a computer that does not have it yet;
  • seeing history older than 7 days (it comes back if you take Pro again within 13 months);
  • the weekly report.

9. Rights that depend on where you live

EU and UK — 14-day right to withdraw. You can withdraw from a Pro subscription within 14 days of subscribing, without giving a reason.

  1. How: on your account page (ascendify.pro/trapfree/account → Pro) press Withdraw from contract here. The next page shows the contract (Pro, the date and the amount) and the email address your confirmation goes to; press Confirm withdrawal. You can also write to us, or use the model withdrawal form in the refund policy (section 4). [DECISION: CA-07 — lawyer: with Paddle as merchant of record, who must offer this button, and must it work without signing in?]
  2. Confirmation: we email you at once, with the date and time we received your withdrawal, the contract and your statement.
  3. Refund: because Pro is a digital service, we ask before you pay whether you want it to start at once ("I want Pro to start now. I understand I can still withdraw within 14 days and get my first payment back in full."). The law would let us keep a proportionate amount for the days used; under our refund policy we refund your first payment in full, to the payment method you used, within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal. Your receipt repeats the sentence you ticked; when Paddle sold you Pro, our confirmation email repeats it (section 3.4).

Germany. See section 7.3.

California. Before you subscribe we show the renewal terms clearly next to the button, and we only charge after your clear agreement. Your confirmation email repeats the terms, the cancellation policy and how to cancel [BUILD GATE: CA-29 — the Razorpay receipt does not link these terms; a Paddle subscription without the EU/UK box gets no confirmation from us]. You can cancel online, in at most two clicks. We email a reminder 7 days before every yearly renewal, and once a year for monthly plans (section 3.3). We tell you 30 days before you first pay a changed price, with how to cancel (section 2.5). We keep a record of what you were shown and agreed to for at least 3 years.

India. Section 4 (recurring payments) and our grievance process (contact page) apply. Nothing here limits your rights under Indian consumer law.

10. Refunds

Refunds are covered by the refund policy (ascendify.pro/trapfree/legal/refunds). In short: a full refund of your first website payment within 14 days, no questions asked; App Store and Google Play purchases follow Apple's and Google's processes.
