We want everyone to be able to use TrapFree, including people who use a screen reader, larger text, a keyboard, switch control or high-contrast settings.
1. Our target
TrapFree's apps, block pages and emails are designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, and the website at ascendify.pro/trapfree to meet WCAG 2.2, level AA. This statement covers:
- the TrapFree website pages at ascendify.pro/trapfree (product, pricing, account, legal pages);
- the pay page and subscription page on server.ascendify.pro;
- the block pages and yellow warning shown in your browser on computers;
- the TrapFree apps for Mac, Windows, Android, iPhone and iPad, and their widgets;
- the emails we send (receipts, reminders, weekly report).
2. What we do
- Contrast: all text meets at least 4.5:1 against its background, main text at least 7:1, and control borders at least 3:1. Every colour pair is measured automatically when the design is built.
- Never colour alone: every state also has a symbol, a word or a pattern (for example a hatched bar marked "over" on charts).
- Text size: everything follows your system text size (Dynamic Type on Apple devices, font scale up to 200% on Android, Windows text size). Layouts reflow; no text is smaller than 11 px.
- Reduce Motion, Increase Contrast and Low Power settings are respected. With Reduce Motion, movement becomes a short fade or nothing.
- Screen readers (VoiceOver, TalkBack, Narrator, NVDA): cards are labelled groups, charts have a text summary, the wallet card is read as one sentence ("Balance 45 minutes. Never expires. Works on all your devices.").
- The yellow warning before a wallet spend: the safe choice, No, go back, has the focus and is always available. The screen reader announces the warning once when it opens and once when "Yes, spend" unlocks, and no more. Escape or Back always means "No".
- Focus: a visible focus outline that is never removed; focus returns where it was when a panel closes.
- Touch targets: at least 44 points (iPhone, web) or 48 dp (Android).
- Plain English: short sentences, numbers and clock times.
3. Known limits
We are honest about what does not yet meet our target, or cannot:
- Waits are part of TrapFree. The 5-second lock on "Yes, spend", the random 3–5 minute wait for "2 min later" and the waits for loosening a rule cannot be lengthened, shortened or switched off, because they are the product. Nothing in them depends on reacting quickly: you can take as long as you like after a wait ends.
- Other short time limits: a wallet spend must be confirmed within 2 minutes of the warning opening (otherwise press Ask again); a pay-page link lasts 30 minutes; a sign-in code lasts 10 minutes and can be re-sent after 30 seconds; the doors ask for a second tap within 4 seconds ("Tap again"). If any of these is hard for you, tell us and we will help.
- iPhone and iPad block screen: Apple draws the screen that covers a limited app. We can set only its text, colours, icon and buttons; its accessibility is Apple's.
- Pages that are not ours: the Razorpay and Paddle payment windows, the App Store and Google Play, and Apple's and Google's permission screens are provided by those companies.
- Languages: English only for now. The sign-up notice and the privacy notice will also be in Hindi (हिन्दी) [by launch, and by 13 May 2027 at the latest].
- The current Mac app (before our redesign) has not yet been audited against this statement. The redesigned app replaces it [by version / date].
- Windows: some custom controls need extra work for screen readers; we test each release with Narrator and NVDA.
- [Any CAPTCHA used before sending a sign-in code will offer an accessible alternative.]
4. How we test
Automatic contrast and text-size checks on every design build; an audit of every rendered page and screen; manual testing with VoiceOver, TalkBack, Narrator and NVDA before each release [and a review by people with disabilities: planned].
5. Tell us about a problem
If something in TrapFree is hard to use, or you need information in another format, contact [email protected]. We acknowledge within 48 hours and aim to fix or offer a workaround within [30 days]. If you are not satisfied, make a complaint with the complaint form (ascendify.pro/trapfree/legal/complaint, linked at the top of the contact page) or by email to our grievance officer (details on the contact page, ascendify.pro/trapfree/legal/contact). The form works with a keyboard and a screen reader: every field has a label, the hints are read with their fields and an error is announced. So does the app's Settings → Support → Make a complaint [BUILD GATE: CA-17 — every app has the entry in its code; the Mac and iPhone in-app forms are not yet in an accessibility check, and the Mac session has not yet run the Mac, Android and iPhone tests].
