How to remove TrapFree, device by device.

On a Mac or Windows PC, removing waits on purpose, so a weak moment can't undo your decision. On phones you can remove it at any time. Removing is never charged.

Mac

The wait: A random wait of 14 to 23 hours, then 90 minutes to confirm.

  1. In the TrapFree app, open Settings › Remove TrapFree.
  2. A random wait of 14 to 23 hours starts. You can cancel the removal at any time. Paying never shortens the wait.
  3. When the wait is over, you have 90 minutes to confirm. Removing asks for your macOS password.
  4. Confirmed removal deletes every file, service, certificate, hosts entry, firewall rule and DNS setting TrapFree added, and restores your original network settings.

Windows

The wait: A random wait of 14 to 23 hours, then 90 minutes to confirm.

  1. In the TrapFree app, open Settings › Remove TrapFree. Windows' “Apps & features” sends you to the same place.
  2. A random wait of 14 to 23 hours starts. You can cancel the removal at any time. Paying never shortens the wait.
  3. When the wait is over, you have 90 minutes to confirm. Removing asks Windows for an administrator.
  4. Confirmed removal takes away the service, firewall filters, certificate, browser policies, hosts entries, proxy and DNS settings and all files, and restores your original settings.

Android

The wait: No wait.

  1. Switch TrapFree off in Settings → Accessibility, or uninstall it like any other app, at any time.
  2. It is never charged, in Deep Focus too.
  3. Your other devices then show “Protection off” for this phone, with the time, and that day does not count as within your limit.

iPhone and iPad

The wait: No wait.

  1. Remove TrapFree's Screen Time access in Settings → Screen Time, or delete the app, at any time.
  2. It is never charged.
  3. Your other devices then show “Protection off on iPhone”.

Good to know

  • Removing TrapFree never cancels a subscription, and cancelling never needs removing it: How to cancel Pro.
  • Your account and wallet stay when you remove the app. To delete them too: Delete your account.
  • On a Mac or Windows PC, an administrator can always remove software by hand; the wait is honest friction, not a lock.
  • Something you truly need is blocked? Contact customer care. After checking it is you, we can send a key that ends the wait on that one computer (at most one per device in 90 days).
